A bit more about me

I began to gain exposure to mechanical and electrical mechanisms at a very early age. In fact, my parents tell me that I had a screwdriver in my hands before I could walk. I began helping my father and grandfather with lawn mower repair at age 6. Around ages 8-10 I was building and repairing my own bicycles, r/c cars, r/c planes and go-carts. Around age 12 I started helping my father with automotive repair work. By age 15 I had already rebuilt 3 automobile engines. At this point in my life, I knew I wanted to study mechanical engineering.

During junior high and high school, I focused my educational efforts on math and physics by taking as many advanced classes as possible. In college I studied Mechanical Engineering and graduated with a 3.75 G.P.A. During college, I worked 30 hours a week at the Mechanical Engineering Department’s machine shop. There I learned the basics of design and became very fluent with conventional lathes and milling machines. Eventually, I began to assist seniors with their senior design projects. I taught them how to run our milling machines, lathes, etc. and they educated me on their design projects. It was an amazing learning experience, and I am very thankful for it.

I love learning about new technologies and many times, I take things apart just to see how they work. I have a strong desire to learn from new challenges. My systematic approach and love for design is what makes me so very good at it. I am a fast learner and if I don’t know how to do something, I will dig in and I WILL figure it out. I perform well in a teamwork-oriented environment, but I also work very efficiently as an individual. My detail-oriented mindset and systematic approach to problem solving are both an excellent complement to determining root causes to complex electro-mechanical issues. I consider myself to be extremely talented in the field of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. My extensive knowledge of manufacturing and product development would be a great asset to your team. Given the proper resources, I possess the ability to confidently and professionally complete any mechanical engineering project assigned to me in a timely manner.

Since college I have gone on to build many interesting things. Please click on either of the Projects links above to take a look at some of my many creations.
